Relief Printmaking

Explore the art of relief printmaking. This is a hands-on class in which you will learn the basics of relief printmaking and discuss technical elements including ink varieties and printing methods. This course will allow you to create small relief prints with a variety of products. Learn the process of cutting away and shaping surfaces to create images and designs. Most supplies are included, but please bring a pencil, a large Sharpie, and a 10x14 sketchbook.

Course Modality: This course is offered in-person at Northern Arizona University.

This course does not require the use of Canvas or any online resources; all material will be delivered in person.

David Williams is a Professor of Printmaking at Northern Arizona University where he has taught printmaking and book classes for the past twenty-five years. His work is included nationally in many permanent collections and has been shown worldwide.
